Oh, We do like to be beside the seaside!

Eight riders set off on the 3rd coastal ride of the year to Filey where they had fish and chips. With a following wind to Filey they found it difficult on their way back, led by Andy Jones and Stuart Burrows they covered around 170 miles with Adam Mills managing his longest ever ride of 188 miles. The intermediate group led by Dave Hemingway and Pete Owen had about a dozen members take refreshments at the motorbike cafe in Sherburn in Elmet, covering about 57 miles. Schoolboy Luke Riley was the fastest rider in the Calder Clarion midweek 10 miles tt on the Hemsworth by pass, his time of 23:52 being the fastest schoolboy this year on that course. John Martin 57:32 kept up his good form in the windy Yorkshire RC 25 miles tt on the A19 at Topcliffe to Knayton and back twice, with Steve Scott recording 1:01:11 in the event. Saturday rides meet at 9am at the Barnsley Oak crossroads.
