Thank you all for following the government guidance during lockdown regarding your rides. Now lockdown is easing, guidance from the government & British Cycling say we can confidently ride in groups of up to six from different households. We must however, continue to follow social distancing on rides, which means being two metres between riders, and strict cycling etiquette/hygiene.
This is great news, so at the recent committee meeting we agreed to start meeting again and get out riding as a club. If you are missing riding with others please pick up where we left off (with a few changes):
9.00am meet at the Barnsley Oak car park - this will allow for better social distancing
Think of others - please don’t ride if you have a temperature and other symptoms of Covid-19
Ride in groups of up to six, maintaining social distancing
Maybe take some food as many cafes are closed or have reduced seating
The main purpose is to get members out again and get club rides up and running. Therefore, no routes have been set, so I’m afraid it’s ‘old school’ - meet up and go for a ride and a cafe stop if you can find one open - at least it’s nice to know someone will be there to ride with!
Hope to see everyone out riding again.
